Production Note

Plumpton Estate Brut Rosé is a classic blend of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir & Chardonnay made using the Traditional Method. A portion of the Pinot Noir fruit is de-stemmed and crushed, then fermented on its skins for up to 5 days at 20-25 °C. This is then pressed off and later blended in, to give the wine its pink hue. The rest of the fruit is hand-picked and whole bunch pressed, then fermented in stainless steel tanks at 12-15°C for around 2 weeks, to retain the delicate fruit character. Over the winter, the winemaker, with the help of our undergraduate and postgraduate wine students, carefully crafts our signature blend. The wine spends at least a year ageing on lees, in the bottle.

Tasting Note

There are notes of white peach and strawberries, with a hint of brioche. It is dry and crisp on the palate, with a fine persistent mousse, leading to a long and elegant finish. It pairs beautifully with chocolate desserts and fresh forest fruits.
