(Animal Studies) Level 6 – Hobbledown Zoo, Epsom

Level 6 – Zoo Trip
Thursday 16th October 2025

To support the completion of your first assignment for Advanced Animal Husbandry and Management, we have arranged a visit to Hobbledown Zoo, Epsom.

Hobbledown is a small but well-regarded zoo, known for its strong branding and excellent visitor interpretation across the site. During the trip, Lucy White, Zoo Manager for both the Epsom and Hounslow sites, will deliver a talk on her role and the logistics of zoo management, including husbandry guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and health and safety practices.

• Departure: Minibus leaves Plumpton at 9:15am
• Return: We aim to be back around 4:00pm. If you rely on college buses, please let me know in advance, as we may need to leave the zoo slightly earlier to ensure you are back in time.
• Lunch: Please bring a packed lunch or money to purchase food on-site.
