(Animal Studies) BSc Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare trip to London Zoo
We’re excited to confirm that our final year BSc Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare students will be visiting London Zoo on Monday 30th November.
This trip will form part of the Human Animal Interactions module and will support students in their understanding of:
- How zoos influence public attitudes towards wildlife.
- Whether seeing live animals increases empathy and conservation support.
- How conservation messages are communicated to visitors.
- Which species receive the most attention from visitors and why.
- Whether charismatic species dominate conservation messaging.
- Ethical arguments for and against keeping animals in captivity.
Students will need to cover the cost of, and arrange, their own travel to and from London Zoo. Staff will be travelling via train/tube and will meet you there.
Student cost for the trip: £14.50 entry to London Zoo + your own travel expenses
