Plumpton Estate Brut Rosé NV
Plumpton Estate Brut Rosé NV
Production Note
Plumpton Estate Brut Rosé is a classic blend of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir & Chardonnay made using the Traditional Method. A portion of the Pinot Noir fruit is de-stemmed and crushed, then fermented on its skins for up to 5 days at 20-25 °C. This is then pressed off and later blended in, to give the wine its pink hue. The rest of the fruit is hand-picked and whole bunch pressed, then fermented in stainless steel tanks at 12-15°C for around 2 weeks, to retain the delicate fruit character. Over the winter, the winemaker, with the help of our undergraduate and post graduate wine students, carefully crafts our signature blend. The wine spends at least a year ageing on lees, in the bottle.
Tasting Note
There are notes of white peach and strawberries, with a hint of brioche. It is dry and crisp on the palate, with a fine persistent mousse, leading to a long and elegant finish. It pairs beautifully with chocolate desserts and fresh forest fruits.
